St Georges Hotel London

St Georges Hotel London

For visitors to London, whether your stay in the city is for business or pleasure, sight-seeing, shopping or maybe all of the above, the decision regarding your accommodation is important and for some is perhaps the most significant aspect of the stay.  The hotel you choose becomes ‘home’ for one night, two nights, a week or perhaps much longer depending on the nature of your trip so it is a good idea to carry out a little research into accommodation prior to arrival.

There are many things to consider when making a selection.  Where is the hotel located?  Is it in a good part of town and what is the local neighbourhood like?  The hotel may be great inside, have really amazing rooms and a fantastic restaurant but if you are in the middle of nowhere or in a ‘war zone’ then it could lose some of its attraction.  There are plenty of hotel review websites available online these days where independent comments and opinions are offered by people who have experienced a hotel at first hand.  Often these review site rate the hotel on a scale of 1 to 10 or on a 1 to 5 star basis.

You may want to consider the accessibility of the hotel in terms of public transport links and closeness to shops, restaurants and amenities.  Is the hotel close to any of London’s famous buildings for example, can you walk there and how far is the nearest underground station?

There are hundreds of hotels to choose from in London and there is also a huge diversity in terms of the quality of accommodation, facilities, food and comfort.

In the United Kingdom, often a hotel (or pub) is named after something relating to relevant history or association.  The patron saint of England is Saint George (remember the story of St George and the Dragon?).  There at least two hotels in London that go by the name of St George or St Georges.  These are hotels described on this website  St Georges Hotel London Victoria and St Georges Hotel Regent Street.
